Carter and his pirate krewe have a day of rest before they take their victory lap in the annual Billy Bowlegs Torchlight Parade at 7 p.

Judges will select top parade entries in four categories: best float; best marching and walking entry; best truck, car or van entry; and best krewe. Rachelle Graves, director of special events with the chamber, said parade participants will stage on the east side of Hollywood Boulevard. Graves said the move was made to ease pre-parade congestion in the residential neighborhood along First Street and provide easier access for participants to stores and restaurants before the parade kicks off.
